about

Japanese word for 'work yourself to death'.

lyrics

[Bedak-Lawson]

Hold fast then turn to stone
Give me the cord and pull out the bone
I’ll take you down, coal cracking coal
Give with one hand take away
Work the day shift night and day
Live for bread and butter
Hanging by my neck off a dead end letter…

Karoshi! Work yourself to death.
Karoshi! Pick axe in the nest.
Karoshi! You know me you know best.
Karoshi! On your knees well-dressed.

One, two and cut the umbilical cable,
Beg for foodscraps off your table
All buttered up! While I freefall down!
Take the pain to elevate
And seeing as you know better
Live your life as a stranger
You’ll make your own nice danger…

Karoshi! Work yourself to death.
Karoshi! Pick axe in the nest.
Karoshi! You know me you know best.
Karoshi! On your knees well-dressed.
Rah! Rah! Rah!

Help me to clarify cos I’m lost here
And I’ll dig out my eyes! Suck it up!
If you wanna get paid!
Take away my shades of grey
And kill the light of day
Think I’m feelin’ better
Fingers snap as I scratch for the centre!

Karoshi! Work yourself to death.
Karoshi! Pick axe in the nest.
Karoshi! You know me you know best.
Karoshi! On your knees well-dressed.

about

Drillhorse Sydney, Australia

Oz rockers Drillhorse hail from Sin City, a southern town with precious little time for rock music anymore which is a wonder considering it was the home to the Young Brothers of AC/DC fame. Over a period of 7 years we've managed to evolve from punk hardcore to 'riders of hard rock’ as we see ourselves today. This is our first album with the fab anathema label.

Yours in rock,
